Masai Mara 4 day Safari

Our Kenya and Tanzania safari starts in Nairobi, with a safari briefing by your  safari guide. Thereafter drive to Masai Mara National reserve via the Great Rift Valley. Arrival at your camp will be in time for lunch.

What animals will you see in Masai Mara?

During your 4 day safari in Masai Mara, you will easily see the big 5 i.e.  Lions, buffalo, leopards, and the elephant. You will also see  hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, and antelopes. During your safari in this amazing destination from the period of July to September, the sensational event of the natural wild takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti National Park in search of water and pasture. Your game drives in Masai Mara will include a visit to Mara River. Your safari guide could also drive you to Talek River or Sand River where the wildebeest crossing also takes place. When in Masai Mara we highly recommend hot balloon safari and the Masai cultural tour

Lake Victoria

Your second safari destination in our Kenya & Tanzania safari is Lake Victoria. On the fifth day, you drive to Isebania/Sirari border and exchange vehicle and driver guide. Border formalities thereafter, you will proceed to Tanzania with an overnight stay at a lodge in Lake Victoria. The lodge is perfectly located at the south eastern shore of Lake Victoria. Excursions available at the lodge include:

  • Canoe trip on Lake Victoria to a fishing village
  • Mountain bike trip through Masamba Hills
  • Lake Cruise
  • Bird walk

Serengeti Wildebeest migration calving safari

On day six you enter Serengeti national park where you will spend 3 nights exploring this park. You embark on full day game viewing in this famous park. This park has a large array of resident animals such as Elephants, rhino, buffaloes, lions, and leopards. However, the rhino population is declining due to the large amounts of rhino poaching in Africa. Serengeti is also well known for the wildebeest migration. This is when millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle pass through the park in search green pasture.  They move northwards into the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, and then returning to the Serengeti once again. January and February is the wildebeest calving season. Over a three week period about half a million calves are born and join the huge herds making their way through the Serengeti for the great migration.

Ngorongoro Crater safari

Your third safari destination is Ngorongoro crater. In Tanzania, Ngorongoro Crater is said to have the world’s densest population of lion. Finally you will visit Lake Manyara national park. In Lake Manyara lions have developed a liking for residing in the branches of trees, where they can both sleep and watch for prey.

Main Destination:

Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya)

We will spend 2 days exploring the Masai Mara, with its abundance of large mammals and diverse birdlife. We have the option to either have full and complete days out in the field when both breakfast and lunch can be served out on the savannah or we can return to camp for lunch.

Big cats are a very prominent feature of the Masai Mara and also include Cheetahs and Leopards, both of which are fairly straightforward to find here. We are definitely at ‘Predator Central’ here.

if any wildlife spectacles anywhere in the world that can rival the tension, drama and emotion of a Mara crossing. As many as a million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra attempt this epic journey each year. Watching as thousands of wildebeest and zebra gather at a crossing point you can almost feel the pressure build on the animals at the front as they consider the right time to attempt to cross the dangerous waters of the crocodile-infested Mara River. It is, however, a time of plenty for the gigantic Nile Crocodiles that live in the river and lie in wait as hundreds of thousands of animals head north from the Serengeti Plains to feed on the lush Mara grasslands. The foaming waters, noise, and drama of a Mara crossing has to be experienced to be believed and offers dramatic action photo opportunities. Dinner and overnight stay at Enkorok Mara Camp

Clients on our Kenya and Tanzania safari leave the camp soon after breakfast and proceed to Tanzania via Isebania Border – proceed to Speke bay lodge where you spend the afternoon taking a boat ride Speke Bay Lodge is located on the south-eastern shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania, East Africa. It is 15 kilometers from the Serengeti National Park. Speke Bay is part of Speke Gulf, named after the famous explorer John Hanning Speke, who, in 1858, discovered Lake Victoria to be the source of the Nile. Embraced by savannah, the Lodge looks like a small village, stretched out along the shores of the lake

The Serengeti National Park is arguably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. During the months December through March the seemingly unending plains of the southern Serengeti and the Conservation Area are inhabited by enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra. The great herds graze on rain ripened grass. In the calving season (late January through mid March) the herds concentrate at the Ndutu and Salei plains (Southern Serengeti / Ngorongoro Conservation Area) attracting the attention of predators like lion, cheetah and hyena.

We enjoy an early breakfast then check out of the camp and our Kenya and Tanzania wildebeest calving safari proceeds south and descend into the crater for a full day Ngorongoro crater tour with packed lunches. Ascend the crater rim for dinner and overnight stay Rhino Lodge.

The Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World,’ a visit to the crater is a main drawcard for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is home of Ngorongoro Crater. It was formed some 2.5 million years ago from a volcanic mountain sinking due to inactivity and was initially thought to be higher than Tanzania’s famous Kilimanjaro. The crater has evolved into a unique and integral part of Tanzania’s eco-system. The crater is actually a caldera, measures 22.5 km’s across and the rim walls stand 600m high. Views from within and from the rim are breathtaking (as can be seen from the picture). The crater houses 30,000 animals and a large variety of birds, which rarely move from the area due to the availability of water through wet and dry seasons

Ngorongoro Crater Tour (Tanzania)

Depart Ngorongoro soon after breakfast then proceed to Lake Manyara National park for a full days game drives with packed lunch – exit the park and proceed to Manyara Lakeview Oasis for dinner and overnight stay Located beneath the cliffs of the Manyara Escarpment, on the edge of the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara National Park offers varied ecosystems, incredible birdlife, and breathtaking views. Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions are another reason to pay this park a visit. The only kind of their species in the world, they make the ancient mahogany and elegant acacias their home during the rainy season and are a well-known but rather a rare feature of the northern park. In addition to the lions, the national park is also home to the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world — a fact that makes for interesting game viewing of large families of the primates
