Spear & Jackson Razorsharp Advance Heavy Duty Telescopic Review

Spear & Jackson Razorsharp Advance Heavy Duty Telescopic image 2The Spear & Jackson Razorsharp Advance Heavy Duty Telescopic is ideal for cutting thicker and harder branches and easily handles a branch 50mm in diameter. These loppers feature a ratchet action which provides a mechanical advantage by advancing the spring loaded cutting blade towards the anvil blade in short steps to complete the cut with a minimum of effort. Simply open the handles to activate the ratchet, then close the handle below the cutting blade until the audible click, open again until the next click and repeat the process. The PTFE coated SK5 carbon steel cutting blade gives lasting sharpness, reduces friction during cutting and provides resistance to rust. The anvil blade is made from a softer metal to avoid damage to the cutting blade and is serrated to stop the branch twisting during the cut. Our simple to operate ‘twist & lock’ telescopic handles extend from 400mm to 800mm for additional reach when required and are made from tubular aluminium to remain as light as possible without compromising on strength. The handles are finished with soft-feel non-slip grips for comfort and safety during use. This lopper also has a locking catch for safe storage and transportation.

These are very good cutters, but like has been said before when the handles are extended a woman may find these a little difficult to cut thick branches at arms length, the ratchet motion also makes them a little slow on a big hedge, but do cut with ease with upper body strength. Impressive. They were delivered ahead of time and feel really solid. Easy to adjust to the length you need and really sharp. They will make short work of branches which are too high for me to reach from the ground.
